houweyamajhoul, you did not tell us why or what OS you are using. Check this page. Just ignore all their computer program download advise. It will tell you how to format it under different OS's. Just remember that you will need a valid OS, and you will have to reinstall the drivers for your computer system. Formatting your drive will delete all the information on your drive. Backup the files you want to keep
