Meu Problema
On our last day on vacation in Costa Rica my wife's iPhone 6 would not take a charge. After the battery drained it was a brick, or so I thought. I took it to the Apple store where they hooked it up to a laptop and ran some diagnostics (on a phone with no power, mind you) and concluded that the motherboard was bad. The only solution was to replace it. There were tons of photos on the phone that were not backed up, we did not want to give up the phone just yet, so I decided I'd try and replace the battery just in case.
Minha Solução
The battery arrived within a few days of ordering it. I followed the repair guide and within 15 minutes the phone worked like new, and has been just fine now for several weeks.
Meu Conselho
Don't trust the Apple Stores advice. We would have spent $300 for a refurb phone or more for a new one instead of the $20 for a new battery. So happy I tried this option first.
