Clean the lint trap of the dryer and dispose of lint in trash.

If your garment is still shedding fibers, repeat this process from the start, beginning with the wash cycle.

Testing has shown that minimal to no fiber shedding occurs in the washing step. The potential for microfibers to enter our waterways is very low. Most of the fibers are removed in the drying step and are captured in the lint trap.
