Introdução

If your Garmin Smartwork 50 LMT has a cracked screen, an unresponsive touchscreen, or display issues such as lines or dark spots, you may need to replace the screen assembly.

The display and touchscreen cannot be separated, so this guide will help you safely remove and install the full assembly.

The steps are simple, but be careful with the internal ribbon cables, as they are thin and can tear easily.

Before you begin the repair, power off the GPS and unplug the charger.

Passo 1 Screen

Use a T5 Torx screwdriver to remove the four screws from the bottom case.

Use a plastic opening tool or metal spudger to separate the back cover from the front frame. Start from the corners and work your way around the device.
Carefully lift the back cover off to reveal the motherboard and ribbon cables.

Use a spudger to unlock the screen cable ZIF connector.
Use angled sweezers to slide the cable from the socket.
You may need to flip the display assembly over for easier access to the display connector.

If the screen does not lift easily, use an iOpener to soften the adhesive.
Use a nylon spudger to pry the old display assembly.
The screen is held in place with adhesive, so be careful when removing it to avoid bending the frame.
