Background and Identification
Mindray Medical International Limited is a Chinese global medical instrumentation developer, manufacturer, and marketer. Mindray designs and produces medical equipment and accessories for not only human use, but also veterinary applications. Mindray Medical is organized into three business lines: Patient Monitoring and Life Support, In-Vitro Diagnostic Products, and Medical Imaging Systems. Mindray was recognized as China’s largest medical device manufacturer in 2008.
A ventilator is a machine that provides mechanical ventilation by moving breathable air into and out of a person’s lungs to deliver breaths to a patient who is breathing insufficiently or physically unable to breathe. Modern ventilators are computerized microprocessor-controlled machines that are primarily used in intensive care medicine, home care, emergency medicine, and anesthesiology. Ventilators are sometimes called “respirators,” though medical terminology uses the word “respirator” to refer to a protective face-mask.
Mindray produces two main series of ventilators, the SV Series, and the SynoVent E Series. The SV Series ventilators integrate high-flow oxygen therapy, non-invasive ventilation, and invasive ventilation. The SynoVent E Series ventilators are designed for patients under intensive care and offer continuous safety and ventilation support.
Mindray ventilators include the name “Mindray” printed in lowercase letters in the center of the display’s bottom bezel. The ventilator’s model name is typically printed in the upper left-hand corner of the display’s frame.
