Background
Released in June of 2010, the Makita GA4030K is a 4" angle grinder with a 6.0 AMP motor that is capable of 11,000 RPM under no loading. It has a sister model, the GA4030, which only differs from the GA4030k in that it lacks a tool case.
There are several features which set this model apart from others. While most models feature a detachable grip of some kind, the GA4030K's is angled at 20° for added comfort. Additionally, the body of this model was slimmed down, allowing for a better grip by the user.
The main feature that sets this grinder apart is the safety switch. The switch on this model locks into the on position, preventing any accidental stoppage of the disk while working on a job. On other models, this style of switch is forgone for a switch built into the frame of the grinder that is triggered when the user grips the frame tight enough.
