Background
The HP Pavilion dv6 model 1245dx was released in 2009 by Hewlett-Packard.
Identification
Identifying the model is simple. First, you will see the HP logo on the top of the laptop, and in smaller letters underneath the logo, “HP Pavilion Entertainment PC.” Second, there is a white sticker on the underside of the laptop that reads, “Product: HP Pavilion dv6." Beneath the words Pavilion dv6, you will see the model number 1245dx. There are several models that look similar, so be sure this model number matches yours before continuing to troubleshoot and repair the device.
This model was released in different colors, including black, dark silver, and black with a design of silver circles across the cover and keyboard area.
