Background
The ASUS Chromebook Flip C214MA is a laptop designed for educational use. It features a touchscreen display, durable 360° hinges, and a school day-long battery life to make it easy to use for students. The device was released on April 5th, 2019, along with the ASUS Chromebook C214, which did not feature a touchscreen display.
The ASUS Chromebook Flip C214MA was released after the ASUS Chromebook Flip C302 and improved upon the durability and portability of the previous laptop. The device was later replaced by the ASUS Chromebook Flip CR1, which again improved upon the durability, but also the display and battery of the ASUS Chromebook Flip C214MA. The selling price for an ASUS Chromebook Flip C214MA is $400.
The ASUS Chromebook Flip C214MA has had some reports of webcam issues, keyboard issues, or issues with the screen. Despite the issues, there have been no official recalls by the manufacturer. Despite some of the issues the device still has, it has been praised as a very good and price-worthy device. The device has also received some criticism for not including a stylus despite including a garage for one. The device has since been discontinued by the manufacturer.
Identification
There are multiple ways of being able to identify your Chromebook correctly. The first way is to identify the serial number located on the button of the Chromebook. The serial number will include “SN:” followed by some numbers. You can also find your serial number on the sticker label on the warranty card, as well as the sticker label on the side of the packaging. The numbers will be listed after the words “Serial Number”, “SSN”, “S/N”, or “SN”. There is also a way of identifying your device using software. First, you need to have Chrome OS, then open the browser, select settings at the bottom right, go to about Chrome OS, and then diagnostics. This will often show the device manufacturer's model name.
