Background and Identification
When first released in February of 2006, the Hi-Fi was meant to revolutionize home audio by giving users the ability to play music from their iPods more easily.
The Hi-Fi is a black and white, medium-sized speaker with a removable grille. It allows for an iPod with the original 30-pin connector to dock directly on top. The Hi-Fi also features an audio jack on the back, making it compatible with all devices with an audio-out line. This device can operate on six D-cell batteries, or with its 9.5’ power cord.
Apple discontinued the Hi-Fi in September of 2007 in an effort to refocus on the iPod and iPhone.
