Years ago the ice dispenser stopped working. I tried to fix it I must have crossed some wires.
With the door closed: water dispenses, ice does not
With door open: the freezer light is NOT on, unless I try to dispense water or I try to dispense crushed ice.

I think all these White french door refers have the same problem.
There is a bundle of wires that go from the bottom of the refer into a hole, not the hinge, in the bottom of the freezer door.
To compound the problem they put a plastic cap on them to further hold the wires. As the door opens and closes these wires repeatedly bend.
I think there are a few in the hinge, but those dont bend, they rotate and are not part of this bundle.
Do i need to draw apicture of what happens?
They break. I rewired all of them on my sisters Whirlpool. If that is the issue, you can do it to. but it isnt a stand up job.
I added a couple inch piece of wire and didnt replace the plastic so i could route them so the movement was the hole wire length an not at one location.
