Front camera suddenly stopped working.

If pressing on the front camera makes it work temporarily, you’re probably right that it’s a connection issue. It sounds like the camera module or its flex cable isn’t making consistent contact with the motherboard.

Before opening it up, I’d try a couple things:

• Restart the phone and test in the stock camera app.
• Check for software updates.
• Try safe mode to rule out another app causing the camera issue.

If it still only works when you press on it, I wouldn’t keep doing that because you can damage the camera module or connector. A repair usually involves opening the phone, disconnecting the battery, reseating the front camera flex cable, and checking the connector for dirt, corrosion, or damage.

The Nothing Phone (2) uses a glued back cover, so getting inside requires heat and care. If you haven't done phone repairs before, this is one I'd probably let a repair shop handle. They can usually tell pretty quickly whether it’s just a loose connection or if the camera module itself needs replacing.
