Mac Mini power plug

Is there some way to stop the power plug from disconnecting from the Mac Mini so easily? Even the slightest shift in the positioning of my Mac, and the power plug falls out. Extremely annoying!

What is your exact model as Apple has a few different setups. Click on the system icon on the right to see the different series.

First off, here's the Apple supplied Mac mini (M1, 2020) Repair Manual

This series uses a standard IEC power cord, here's Apples P/N 923-00645 which you can order but there are cheaper options locally to you. I would try that first.

If a different cord didn't help, then sadly The whole power supply will need to be replaced as the socket is part with it. Here's that P/N 661-16789

Both can be ordered from here Self Service Repair Store for Apple Products

Here's the section which goes into replacing the power supply Mac mini (M1, 2020) Power Supply there's a few steps before the guide will aim you to what's needed.

I don't need to replace the power cable, I just want to know if there's a way to stop it from coming out of the socket so easily. I know that they're designed to release if the computer is knocked over to protect the pins, but mine will pop out if I move the computer even a centimetre or two! It's extremely annoying!

@suegarnhum - Yes I got that!

The cord and socket have friction to hold the cord from popping out. Over time this friction loosens! The cords contact clips can also loosen up so the cord may appear to hold fast the contacts aren't making good contact. The cord is often the failure!

Really, the answer is try a new power cord then you'll need replace the socket which here it's part of the power supply.

Ahhh, now I understand! Thanks for clarifying that for me.
