Fuel vacumm line issue

I have a vauxhall astra j 1.4 the fuel vacumm hose has broken on the engine side, is it the intake manifold it connects to? Thanks in advance

Hard to say, Tony. Most of the vacuum lines are powered from the intake manifold, so that's a reasonable guess, but that's all it is at this point since we can't see the hose you're referring to. Can you add a picture of the hose you're concerned about so we can see what you see?

Yes, on the Astra J 1.4 the small vacuum hose normally connects to the intake manifold. The intake manifold is the main source of engine vacuum, so most of the small vacuum lines run from there to things like the fuel pressure regulator, purge valve, or other control components.

If the hose has snapped on the engine side, have a close look around the intake manifold for a small plastic nipple or spigot where it would have pushed on. They can sometimes break off if the hose goes brittle with age.

Make sure you replace it with proper vacuum hose (not fuel hose) of the correct diameter, and push it on firmly so it seals properly. If it’s left disconnected you may notice rough idle, poor running, or even a check engine light because of a vacuum leak.

If you’re unsure which port it came from, a quick photo of the area would help narrow it down.
