This is likely the classic issue of "Put cable in specific position for it to work." It's likely some sort of cable or connector issue, which will require soldering the cable or connector. or, it could be a software issue, which I doubt is the case. Personally, I would just buy a new set of Earbuds, but that isn't the spirit of this website.
