How to install operating system

Create a bootable USB, boot from it, follow on-screen instructions, and install the operating system on your device.

Hey Jalote! To Install a new OS on your Lenovo N Series laptop you will need two items.

Required Items.

1. A USB drive with a capacity of at least 8GB
2. Another laptop that has an internet connection.

Install Steps.

1. Prepare the Installation Media:

• Download the OS ISO: Obtain the ISO file for the desired operating system (e.g., Windows 10, Windows 11) from the Microsoft website or other appropriate source. (Eg. Arch Linux)
• Create a Bootable USB: Use a tool like Rufus or Windows 11 Installation Assistant to create a bootable USB drive from the ISO file.

2. Boot into BIOS/UEFI:

• Restart your laptop: Power on your Lenovo N Series laptop and repeatedly press the key that accesses the BIOS/UEFI (usually F1, F2, F12, or Del) as soon as the Lenovo logo appears.
• Navigate to Boot Options: Find the "Boot Order" or "Boot Menu" option and change the boot order to prioritize your USB drive.
• Save and Exit: Save the changes and exit the BIOS/UEFI.

3. Initiate the OS Installation:

• Boot from USB: The laptop should now boot from the USB drive.
• Follow the On-Screen Prompts: Follow the on-screen instructions to install the new OS.
• Format the Drive (if necessary): You may need to format the hard drive during the installation process to create new partitions.
• Install Drivers: After the OS is installed, you can install the necessary drivers for your Lenovo N Series laptop's hardware. You can find these drivers on the Lenovo Support website.
