Loose film advance lever
I accidently overwound my minolta x700 - film advance lever. So it's now loose. See video.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

The film advance ratchet has been broken within the shaft. You could try advancing things using the motor drive connection on the bottom. Using a pair of needle nosed pliers insert the plier points into the slots and gently turn clockwise, the curtain should move slightly as you advance the mechanism. As the curtain was not fully retracted you may need more than the film advance shaft and ratchet.

Thank you so much for your reply. I got some long noes players with a 90deg attachment and turned that bit you said clockwise. The curtain then finished it's cycle like you said. Then the resistance increased so I stopped turning.
Now the film advanced lever would go 30 deg, then move no more. I don't remember exactly what I did next but it kind of involved turning on and off and firing the shutter. And it worked again. I may have also pressed the little silver nob to release the film canister (but it was empty).

Hey I just have the same problem with my Minolta. You haven’t done any video of how you fixed that by any chance? It would be super useful. I’m a photography beginner and I has already started taken couple of pictures with the analog camera and got super attached to it, but sadly I over twist it and now the film-advance lever is loose.
