To remove mildew, grime, detergent residue etc from the tub in a washing machine, with an empty tub, fill the machine with hot water, add 2 cups of clear vinegar to the water and then run a complete wash cycle i.e. wash, rinse and spin and check if that resolves the problem.
You may have to do this a few times to get rid of stubborn areas.
