1 BIOS not showing USB boot drive
I am installing Arch Linux for the first time on an old Acer computer.
After rebooting multiple times, and fixing a problem with the partitioning, I encountered an issue with the BIOS: The BIOS did not list the USB drive in the boot menu.
I tried updating the BIOS, but that did not fix the problem.
Has anyone encountered a similar problem before, and do you know how to fix it?

Check if the Fast Boot setting in BIOS is enabled. Is so disable it.
Not sure if this is applicable in Acer, but in other makes, if Fast Boot (aka Fast Startup) is enabled it bypasses checking the USB ports on startup.

I disabled it, but that did not help.

When you go to set your boot order, did you check to see if it was under HHD rather than USB? It could be possible that your USB Stick is being recognized as an HDD instead of as a USB device.
