Black screen when turn on but you can hear the sound of the fan

If you think that the laptop is booting in Windows (or Linux) OK try connecting and external monitor (TV?) to the laptop's HDMI port and check if you can see the laptop's display showing on it. Don't forget to press the Fn + F4 keys (both together) to toggle the display output between the laptop screen only, the external screen only or both screens on together.

If there is no display showing on the external monitor either, then perhaps the laptop is not booting into the OS or maybe not even passing POST (power on self test). Are there any lights blinking on the keyboard e.g. Caps Lock light. Can you get into BIOS OK with a display when first starting the laptop? Press the F10 key a few times after starting the laptop

If there is a display seen on the external monitor, switch the display back to the laptop screen and then try shining a flashlight at an angle close to the laptop screen and check if you can see any images at on on the screen. They will be very faint if they are there so trying this in a darkened room may help to see them

If there are images seen on the laptop screen, then there's a screen backlight problem in the laptop. This could be due to a faulty screen, a faulty video cable/cable connection or a problem on the motherboard.
