The LCD repair kit comes with an adhesive strip; however, the LCD as well has preinstalled adhesive. Do I need to use both, as provided on the kit, or is the one pre-installed on the LCD sufficient enough? There's are not many details on the repair procedure for how to prep the unit for reassembly.

If the spare part comes with adhesive already installed on it there shouldn't be a reason to need the other provided in the kit. Any problems can potentially be fixed with glue if it is an lcd and digitizer combination spare part as indicated by this guide
