How do you fix a broken manual focus ring?

This happened to me as well. The control ring was entierly out of order. No zooming on images in preview, iso, film, or manual focus control. But i managed to fix it.

For me the problem was that there was an orange strip that was disconnected, i just disconnected it on both sides and connected it again, that fixed it. The orange strip im talking about are in step 9 and 10 in this guide Fujifilm X30 Motherboard Replacement.

I think the part name is M234: FFZ10352-100 M-F_FPC
