Colour on tv not to standard and showing a purple tint.

I recently replaced the SS1 board in my panasonic tv due to the 8 blinks issue and has work great for a couple of days, today i have tried to use it and after a couple of seconds the colour will go and to fix i have to turn the tv off and back on again… Any ideas on what to do?

(Image doesn’t do it justice but the tint is there, if you want more pictures let me know…)

@burtben how are you connecting? With an HDMI cable? tried a different one yet? Also, try different inputs. Like DVD/BR Game console etc. Use as many different input sources as you can get. LEt us know if they are all purple. Purple is actually a lack of green :-)

@oldturkey03 We are using HDMI, but it happens when on the TV's built in menus... We have ordered a replacement SS2 board (the thin one) and hoping that will work? not sure tho and was a shot in the dark...

@burtben just for kicks and giggles, try a different port or/and a different HDMI cable

@oldturkey03 Didn't work :/, although the original 8 blinks issue has returned... is their a possibility that the SS1 board is dead again??

@burtben what the heck. Why would the SS1 go up in smoke again.? We need to find out what could be shortening this out. Some Panasonic's had issues with the board shorting out to the chassis on the screw holes. Anything obvious that you may have noticed on those areas?

@burtben see if your TV has any of these issues. Hard to see at times so it requires some careful inspection.

we may just have to find a service kit for your board and see if we can fix yours. see if you can find this where you are. If not I can send it to you. SS Board Repair Kit TNPA5623 TXNSS1SDUU

Post a close up of your board. Let's see if we can find the root cause

You okay with soldering? Standard stuff. Nothing that requires a microscope but possibly some magnifying visor if you are old as me :-)
