I don't think that there is a separate backlight IC as such.
According to the specifications the phone has an amoled display.
Amoled displays are different to LCD displays in that the individual pixels produce their own light so separate backlighting is not necessary. The pixels are either turned on or off.

Perhaps check if the display cable is securely connected first.
Here's the no display troubleshooting flowchart from the service manual that may help to know whether it's a display problem or a systemboard problem.
Unfortunately the manual is not quite complete as it doesn't show the location of all the components mentioned as test points. -
I only found one i.e. U10001. Here's an image of the board that it's on to show its exact location on that board.

Here are the Samsung part numbers for the complete display modules for the model. It seems that there is more than one part number for the same part as searching for any of the part numbers for a variant gives the same result. Search online using the part number only to find suppliers that suit you best
