Hello all, I received an iPhone 7 and also 6s plus with the same issue. PP5v0_ usb line is completely dead (not grounded). The caps on that line when I used a multimeter to check them do not give any continuity or sign of being shorted.
I have changed the Tristar and Tigris still same issue
I’ll appreciate all help and advise please.

When you say dead, you mean no voltage? I am not at home and so I cannot verify with either a known good board, or even look at a board, but if but if i am reading the schematic correctly, PP5V0_USB comes from the charger. Which woulkd make perfect sense given the name.
So if it is not present when you’re attempting to run a phone off a DC power supply, or a battery only I don’t imagine you would get any voltage. See if you get voltage when you also connect a charger.
If it’s not present even with a charger connected, then that’s a different story.

When I said dead, I mean no resistance reading or value whatsoever while using a multimeter in diode mode to check.
If you check all caps, resistors linked to the PP5v0 usb line they all aren't giving any value or sign of short.
@n3dtech Right, so it would be reading as OL? correct? That’s also normal. Just for reference, check the diode mode readings for the dock connector (you’ll have to scroll way to the bottom of the linked page), where this line also goes.

@daniel yes I have.. 0.2amps prompt to boot. But I discovered changing the Tigris is useless..cos the PP5v0 usb line on the pad of the Tigris are all dead.

@n3dtech are you getting a good diode reading

@daniel the diode reading on caps along the PP5v0 usb line is null ( like no response). You remove the caps and check the pads if you’ll get any reading same thing (null). I also remove the Tigris I.C and read all the pads linked to PP5V0 line and null.. no short to ground just dead.

@n3dtech possibility of the replaced chips could be bad, failing that i would check q2101. i dont have the boardviews infront of me atm so cant really look, if replacing q2101 doesnt work i would pull tristar and tigris to see if you get a diode reading usually 0.2amps would lead to tristar
