3V rail putting out 2.4V

His all, I was wondering if someone could help with an issue I have on an Xbox One. It won’t power up. When the brick is plugged in the light stays orange and the fan doesn’t even try to move when plugging it in. 12V rail is fine as are all mossfets on the 12V rail. When checking voltages, all of them seem fine except the 3.3V. All 3.3V check points give me a reading of 2.4V no matter what area of the board that I check for 3.3V. Does anyone know what could cause this and what to check for to resolve this issue.

Tim Tsamtsikas is there any chance you could post a couple of good pictures of your board with your QUESTION. Is this the same board that had the issue with the regulator? Adicionar imagens a uma pergunta já existente

No mate this is for an Xbox One. Completely different console. The other issue was for my Xbox Series X

I don't really know about Xbox repair but it sounds like a power supply problem

Suggestion: Check all voltage regulators on the Main board, I will attach a photo on where they are and the component values

Here is an image of the 3.3 voltage regulator (marked with red X)

No the power brick is fine as it works in my other two working Xbox One consoles

@electronicsboy I am sure you meant it was having an issue with some of DC-DC power circuits.

@oldturkey08 yeah, something like that

@electronicsboy

I would very much appreciate the pictures when you get a chance

Tim Tsamtsikas check your standby voltages and let us know where you are checking the 3.3V rail. Have you considered inducing the proper voltage to the circuit and checking the components to see if and which one will heat up etc. Most failed componenrs will heat up if you inject voltages to it.

This is the picture where I was checking all 3.3v but every one came up as 2.4v. I’m still a newbie so how where would I add voltages to check the components that heat up? Are you able to mark up the areas for me if it’s not too much trouble?

por

@Tim Tsamtsikas that is why we need to see where you are checking. There are multiple rails with multiple Regulators. It would be unlikely that all of them have failed. At least give us a component on the rail that you are checking. I use a workbench power supply to inject the proper voltages
