Potential connectivity issues after front camera drilled out

This iPhone SE 1st gen was given to me in this state. The previous owner drilled the front camera out for privacy reasons. I do not have a SIM card with service to test cellular connectivity. I am unable to get my watch to pair via bluetooth and Wi-Fi randomly stops working with the switch grayed out in settings.

Thanks for the photos:-)

Could you upload some photos of the inside too so we can see if it has and damaged antennas:-)

por

@hellomacos It looks like the drill bit didn't get past the camera's rear bracket.

@guardian10

maybe try disassembling it and cleaning it as you go

some dust and debris may have gotten in the hole:-)

@guardian10 "with the switch grayed out" if they went to the extent of drilling through the camera I would not be surprised that they also "disabled" BT and WiFi by the IC or the antenna or within the WiFi circuitry. You do need to check on all of that as well.

I don't think they disabled the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, as they work most of the time, but randomly stop. It may be a board issue that was there beforehand.

@guardian10 okay sounds like you got that checked then. you do recognize that the " switch grayed out" will only apply when it is "not there" Sounds like a board issue.

@imicrosoldering what is your expert opinion on this situation :-)
