Why am I not getting audio from headset and only chat

Hey everyone so lastnite went in to a xbox party which never done b4 and guys telling what settings to change so can hear them which I could but cold get any game play or audio through headset just chat so after game guys back out and I tried game relay back to game chat but nothing spent 2hrs lastnite trying to figure it out and can't so really need some help please ?
