my iPod2 is damaged and the right corner screen broken and the back dented slightly on the right corner..I have reset and restored but cannot get the slide lock to unlock..

You probably need a new screen. Depending upon where the dent is, you may have damaged the component the digitizer plugs into. In that case the repair becomes out of reach for most but can be done by replacing the motherboard flex cable.
In your case spend $15 on a new screen and start there.

It is possible the connector just popped out... check that before ordering a new digitizer.
