I don’t know the computer so I don’t know if the motherboard supports GPT or not.
Type msinfo32 in the Windows search box on the desktop. When you do, the System Information app will appear. Click on Open and then when the app opens scroll down to System Summary > BIOS mode.
Legacy indicates that the system is BIOS and this normally requires MBR.
UEFI indicates that it is as stated, UEFI, and GPT is normally required.
How much ram is installed?
Have read that some Inspiron One 2305 versions ship with only 4GB of ram (DDR3L-1600 UDIMM). The computer supports up to 8GB of ram in two slots i.e. 2 x 4GB. My view is that Win10 runs better with 8GB but you will need to have Win10 64-bit installed.
Did you install Win10 32-bit or Win10 64-bit?
Win10 32-bit will only utilize 4GB of ram so if there is already more installed it won’t get used.
To check the specifications click on Start > Settings > About and go to Device Specifications to view the amount of installed ram and the System type
If you only have 4GB of ram and have Win10 64-bit installed and wish to upgrade, here’s the service manual for the computer.
Click on the memory module(s) link at the start of the manual, to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to replace the memory modules.
If you only need to add one 4GB ram module, then make sure that both the 4GB modules will have the same specifications. You should be able to find them on the module itself
