How can I remove a S-Pen that has been stuck in the device?

I dropped my phone the day my protective case came in the mail, as I was on my way to get the mail (a couple days after receiving my Note 10+ as a long-awaited replacement for another broken phone.)

Since then, my S-Pen has been stuck in the S-Pen slot, and does not “click” and pop out. There is a slight dent in the S-Pen Slot, but after a little bit of light force to bend it back in place to the point that using my 60x lighted handheld loupe I strongly believe the S-Pen should probably be able to escape and that the blockage is coming from further within the S-Pen compartment.

My concern is that the battery in the S-Pen itself, or some aspect of the phone underneath the wireless charger is out of whack. After reviewing your Note 10+ information, and anything I could find on youtube, I did not see anything about how to safely remove the S-Pen’s wireless charger, so that you could then dislodge the S-Pen itself.

With back glass and adhesive being fairly inexpensive I don’t mind popping off the glass at the risk of damaging that to try to get it out, but I don’t want to start digging around without a better idea of how to do it properly.

If as you say the passageway for the S-Pen is clear, then it more than likely will come out with just a bit of force. Lightly bump the phone against your hand or a table and hopefully the device will come free.

If that doesn’t work, you may be able to try taking the back and screen off the device and seeing if there is any debris or damage to the compartment for the S-Pen, and hopefully be able to revert it.

If all else fails, you can resort to drilling into the pen, sacrificing it’s life, so you can then remove the corpse from the device and replace it.

I recently encountered a situation where my S24 Ultra pen became stuck. In an attempt to dislodge it, I tapped the pen against a towel placed on a table to absorb some of the impact. After several attempts, the pen finally came out. Upon further inspection, it appeared that beach sand, which I had encountered earlier, might have caused the spring inside the pen to get stuck. To resolve the issue, I gently tapped the pen to remove any remaining debris. Fortunately, the clicking and springing mechanism of the pen resumed functioning normally. I hope this information proves helpful to others who may encounter a similar issue in the future. I genuinely appreciate this feature of the S Pen and wish everyone a wonderful day!

I recently got my s pen stuck and I freaked out and tried everything and then a got an idea. I grabbed some tape, doesn't really matter it just has to be new or slightly used. From there you have to put some tape on the stuck pen and gently pull it so the inside dosen't get damaged and it worked.

My pen broke in half. I tried this and I couldn't get it out. A friend with a "Swiss type" knife used a tip and it took two of us getting it out.

Man mine is really jammed. I put one of my older note pens in. Pushed it down hoping it would click out but that's only made it worse. This thing is jammed badly. I'm going to try the drill but scared I'll break my phone. I take accountability. I did this as very stupid mistake. Maybe if this comment helps and you ever lose your pen don't put an older one into it. I really have it jammed in there and it was only a couple weeks after getting my new 24.

Late to the party but just had this issue.

I've had 2 pens break, leaving 1/2 stuck in the slot. Tweezers got them out.

Last week my brand new, intact pen got stuck. After reading this post, I bumped the bottom of the phone against my palm and the pen popped right out. Quick swipe with a Q-Tip confirmed that there was dust & hair in the slot; very little, actually. Apparently, it doesn't take much to gum up the works. The pen is now snapping in and out smoothly. Plan to swipe again with alcohol to remove oil that may have transferred from the pen to the slot. Might sound like overkill but I depend on the pen. Without it, I fat-finger everything.

Get a small nail and put crazy glue on thee head of it. Gently press to the center of the stylus head and press together 30 seconds. Then yank that sucker out!

I'm going to try your suggestion before the drill. I put one of my older pens into my new 24 and man it's stuck. I pushed down hoping it would click out but only has made it worse. I'm afraid of using a drill because I have had a severe TBI and I have a tiny bit of a tremors in my right hand and I really don't want to destroy a 1200 dollar phone. I hope this works
