My Sony KD-70X690E will not power on. When attempting to turn on the indecator LED turns green then after a few seconds turns red and does a 6 sequence flash. Trying to find out what the error code is and where to get parts. Why are all electronics junk these days?

A 6 blink error code is a backlight problem.
Here’s an image taken from the service manual for the TV that shows the various blink errors and their meanings.
