I just had to change my battery on my Moto G4 Plus, and in the process accidentally tore up the black tape that was on the original battery. I thought it wasn't a big deal, but I'm having second thoughts. It's a black tape with a silver/metallic underside, and very thin. What kind of tape is it, and is it important?

If you look at the disassembly here… then you will know it is harmless.

I looked at disassembly here, it didn't say anything about the tape or what it was. Doesn't matter much anyways, got someone local to help
I thought you meant the black tape.

It appears my Cameron Sino replacement battery doesn't have the metalized tape and I don't know what its purpose was or how important it is. The new battery is itself covered in a black plastic sheet which is very well stuck on.
