Can I use a 2010 MacBook motherboard with a 2008 MacBook

Hi I have a 2010 macbook motherboard and I have a 2008 macbook but I have ordered a 2010 macbook motherboard it looks like itll fit besides it has the magsafe charger the ethernet the dvi 2 usb slots and 2 headphone Jack's and the 2010 macbook motherboard has all of that besides one headphone it has only one but will it still work because I'd like to run a higher mac os the 2010 macbook motherboard is good I'm just trying to run a higher os other than mac os snow leopard
