CMOS battery on Asus x540y
Where is the cmos battery on Asus x540y taking the laptop apart and can not find anywhere.Please show step by step on how to find and replace.

Shane Wigum it may not have one. If you removed the motherboard take a look underneath the board. IF you cannot locate it there either it is easily possible that Asus is using a capacitor instead of a CMOS battery. It would get power from the main battery. Anyhow, let us know why you need to replace it and post some good pictures of your motherboard as well as the chassis with your question so that we can give you a more precise answer.
