Why is my reverse light always on even when im not in reverse?

You may have a faulty reverse light switch in the transmission.

Couldn’t find it for your model but here’s a video that shows the switch location in a 2008 Mazda 3 so hopefully it will be similar to your year and model.

There are videos on YouTube that show how to test a reverse light switch. While I couldn’t find any videos specific to your particular vehicle the principle would be the same.
