Is a charging port replacement possible without microsoldering?

Great answer, thank you. For some reason my normally very technological brain didn’t think to plug it into my laptop with a regular micro USB, and fortunately that does seem to charge it, although very slowly and the connection is very poor. I have a tool to test whether power is reaching the board, so I might try that, but first I’ll try a new charger. Otherwise I’ll probably give up on it. I love repairing tablets and phones, but I have absolutely no experience soldering and no equipment to do so. Thanks for the response.

@taffythecat don't give up on it. Hate for stuff to go into the "dumpster". Having the port replaced is not as difficult as it sounds. I am sure that you are somewhere where somebody can do some soldering for you.

I also hate to see fixable things going to the dumpster, I’ve literally seen people who had phones with cracked screens and nothing else about to throw them out. I’ll look around for people that can get it done. How much do you think it would cost?

It'll depend on where you are located. In the past I've had a lot of luck with colleges, trade schools, Universities and even hobby clubs. RC vehicle clubs are a great resource. If you remove the board and have the connector, and do not request any kind of warranty etc., it really should not be that expensive.
