Smoke came out near the screen.
My chrome won’t charge nor turn on. I thought the battery fried, so i bought a new battery but it won’t charge. What could the problem be?

@bdeleon this “Smoke came out near the screen." sounds like you have a couple of burned components on the motherboard. You will have to take a look at it and post some good pictures of your board with your question. That way we can see what you see. remember that there are schematics for only a few of these motherboards. It will be extremely important to identify the motherboard. So let us know about any markings etc. on the board,

Has the device been exposed to any conditions that differ from normal?
If so it probably better to pay for a new computer as it would cost more than the value of the machine for a new board which may have been exposed to water, had contact with metal or a substance after being banged, dropped, or slammed shut, seeing that there is smoke and the battery was not ruined it would be a board problem.
