Promark P70 Drone "pop noise" when I plugged it up to charge.

I bought a Promark P70 Drone from a family member and gave it a "test run" doing flips, flying it far away/up close, up/down, landing, lights worked perfect, etc. As matter of fact their son (my cousin) had only used it a few times. When I got home I flew it until the battery needed charged. After I plugged it up to charge it (I sadly used a charging cord that did not come with it), there was a loud "pop" noise and I haven't been able to use it again ever since. Could a cord (same voltage) other than the actual Promark Drone cord cause it to quit working? The instructions stated “use only Promark charging cord). My family member said that wouldn't matter, that they only put that on there so they can charge you ridiculous amounts of money to try to make you buy their products. Do, do I need to replace the Mother Board, Motor, or Battery? I don't know where to begin as far as testing it to see what’s wrong. I’m going to assume it was the battery, but I have no clue honestly. I was hoping one of you enthusiasts would know what I need to do. Any help is MUCH appreciated.

Hi @couch123

You’ll have to open the drone and check for any obvious damage on the motherboard.

Hopefully it may be only some electronic components e.g. capacitors and not the battery.

Using proprietary chargers may be necessary as they could have wired it differently, so even though the voltage is the same as other chargers, they may use more of the available connectors in the plug for different purposes I don’t know if this is the case with yours or not. Just saying it may be.

Here’s a link to a video that shows how to dis-assemble the drone. The motherboard can be seen at about the 12 minute mark.

If you do see any problems (or even if you’re not quite sure), take some close up images of the motherboard and post them back here.

Here’s how to do this. Adicionar imagens a uma pergunta já existente

Hi there, my promark p70 has a different problem. One surface mount transistor on my controller's mather board was burned (3 transistors in a raw with the main chip, two of them are KI3 and 6525. battery terminal touched it. manufacture defact). I have been seraching for a long time trying to get the schematic circuit diagram to identify what kind transistor it is. Is there anyway that I can get one or would you please provide me some information about it please. Thanks a lot !

@mao123

You previous comment regarding the problem with the drone has been moved to a new question so that more people can see it and hopefully someone may answer it with some relevant information

As a comment in an answer to a 3 year thread old, it might not get much attention.
