My dyson was working, lost power and smelt like it was burning

why would it slow down with power and smell like something’s burning?

Hi @plane53 ,

Check that the cannister is empty and not clogged and that the filter is clean so that the motor will get good airflow through it.

If it gets too hot it could automatically be turned off by a thermal cut off switch in the motor to prevent the motor from burning out.

Wait until the motor has cooled down and then see if it works OK.

Look at your motor ‘s carbon.. i Ve just disassemble my dyson, smell like burn , but it’s broke carbon powder.

After full cleaning,and test my motor have one loop burn.. so new motor needed..

For brayden s , i have disassemble the turbo bin box, you need to unscrew all screw to accès to a join for block airflow that is broke too.

I havé buy a sheet of neopren and cut like the original , replace and reassemble all part

ive had the same situation before with my parents theres a band somewhere it must have damaged or is needing replacement
