I have this Kenmore wash machine. I have hot water & I have cold water. Checked hot/cold incoming, replaced inlet valve assembly, ran water through hoses, hot & cold. Also replaced temperature selector switch. I don't know how to test control boards. Pretty pricey. Running out of stuff to check / replace

– Be sure the hot water heater in your home is operating and other faucets are getting hot water – If no hot water, check water heater.– Make sure you have the hot water valve OPEN that supplies HOT water to the washer – Located behind the washer.– Check to be sure the hot water inlet hose is not clogged – If it is, no hot water can enter washer.– Examine the hose mesh filters that go in between the hoses and the washer – Mesh filters can clog and restrict water flow.– Take rear panel off washer and examine wiring to and from the water inlet valve – Connect any loose wires wire harnesses – Replace any damaged wiring.– water inlet valve is in working order – Check for blockages– Check for a possible fault where the hot water solenoid IS AT FAULT therefore no hot water enters the washer and the water inlet valve needs replaced.– Check the timer/heater mechanism (that sets the hot water for the washer) and be sure no loose or damaged wires are found. Since you are having timer problems as stated on another question, I would go here first

It cannot be the solenoid because obviously the song ladies opening and hot water is going into the tub, as well as cold water, but only on the hot only setting or cold only setting.
Therefore it's something in the controls that is not sending voltage to open both hot and cold at the same time. I imagine that warm would have been simple to accomplish by simply turning on hot and cold at the same time but since this machine also has a "cool" setting, they must be using something more complicated like a timer to cycle the hot water on and off while the cold is fully on, to achieve the cool setting.
Anyone else had this problem and know the solution? It's obviously something in the controls sending voltage to the solenoids, but the original post said he changed the hot cold warm selector switch. Is there a circuit board in this machine?

What is the model number of your washer?
Hello. One key item on the washer (before considering the motherboard) is the unit's temperature sensor which, for a top loading unit, is usually located at the bottom of the drum. You may consider removing and testing the sensor using an available multimeter for verification of operation. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with what values should be for this sensor when testing resistance. You may also simply replace the sensor and see if the unit responds correctly. If, however, it does not and assuming you have exhausted all other options (as mentioned in this post), then I would recommend investigating/replacing the control board.
All washers are different and use different electronics to regulate water temp. Some are just very simple hot-warm-cold in this case voltage goes to one vavle or the other for hot or cold or voltage goes to both on warm. So ensuring even amout of water from both hot and cold supply lines is crucial as well as hot water temperature.
The other type is a more complicated thermister system that uses a control and a device that actually measures the temperature of the water coming in and adjusts the flow of hot and cold water accordingly.
It is crucial in most cases of diagnostic inquiry to include a model number to determine what type of temperature regulating system it uses prior to asking for repair advice .
Finally im not aware of any top load washers that use temperature sensors at the bottom of the tub as one " expert" suggests. I would disregard that erroneous information.
