Screen with vertical lines

It sounds like either your graphics processor in your TV is going bad, or the LCD is starting to break inside and not display images correctly. I would try messing around with some video settings on your TV to see if the various lines get stronger or lighter with adjusting the color, contrast, etc. If you adjust your brightness to full and the lines are as bright as the rest of the TV, then the graphics board is going out. If you adjust it to minimum and the lines are still there, the LCD is most likely going out.

'''++kok wee ng++'''  if this is over your entire screen I would check the T-con board first. If you give us the model number of your TV we can try to find more information about this. It is of course possible that these are TAB errors (unlikely) where the ribbon cables from your driver board for your LCD (unrepairable) release from their contact.

I have the exact same problem with my Samsung hi-def big screen and quite by accident found a way to “fix” the problem when I was plugging in a cable cord. After fiddling and wiggling the cable cord I eventually found the “sweet spot” and my picture returned to a beautiful screen display again! The only problem is if I accidentally turn off the tv I have to manipulate the cable cord again. It can take a bit, but eventually I find the sweet spot again. The odd thing is - the other end of the cable cord isn't attached to anything!
