Only the top 1/3 of the touch screen will work.

I have replaced the battery of my nook HD+ and finally got it to turn on but now the top 1/3 of the screen will only work and the rest is unresponsive, I don't know if I had damaged it because it has been on my shelf for over 3 months with out any one touching it. I haven't been able to take off the touch screen because the screws are to tight and I don't have the right screws for it. I have a crack at the bottom of the screen that I was unaware of before I popped the frame off. I have cleaned the screen many times with a norwex cloth. I charged the Nook HD+ all the way to 100% and it still doesn't respond. If you have any idea what I could do besides replacing the touch screen it self I would appreciate it. Thanks, Hamish

@yfis I think you already have an idea of what needs to be done "I could do besides replacing the touch screen" You will have to replace the digitizer. That is the part that has failed on your Nook. Here are the guides to help you with this Nook HD+ and the difficulty will be to source the part. This is where you could go and purchase a complete used or otherwise broken HD+ and use that as a donor for yours.

Is the digitizer the entire screen and everything with it? cause the tutorial is very confusing to me.

@yfis that depends no what you can find. Most use ones are complete bezel and digitizer but not the LCD

I suggest you try eBay for a good used Nook eReader. Remove your new battery, and re-cycle the rest.

We have tried to swap parts between Nooks, no go. They may look alike, but not recommended.

Now for the bad news....

Long ago, I heard of someone who could magically transfer everything from nook#1 to nook#2.

I do not believe that is true.
