My camera and calendar were not working. I did a factory reset. When it comes back up it and I try to type something it shows a microphone but no keyboard. With the keyboard missing I can't do anything such as getting on the Internet or logging in to Google. So I can't install a keyboard. Catch 22. Any Ideas?

When I factory reset my tablet (Android) the keyboard ended up missing. Since the keyboard was missing I couldn't access Google Play Store Apps because I didn't have the ability to sign in to Google. I eventually solved this by copying a keyboard app thru Bluetooth from another tablet.

Did you get an answer? I had this problem and essentially the only fix was to reset all the settings. When I went to settings to change from voice typing to keyboard nothing was lit up, it was as if I didn't have permission to make that change. Go to Settings - System - Reset All Settings- Reset. However this was a problem because to reset settings you need to enter your password, which as a general rule cannot be spoken. So what I did was I went to Google, spoke my password and cut and paste it into the password box, then I reset my settings. Hope this is helpful.
I am having same problems with Huawei BG2-U01, when I try to speak it reads, goggle voice typing cannot be used for this field.
I really need help.

Hi There,
Install the app Gboard from the Playstore and then try again. The option to select Gboard becommes available and the the onscreen keyboard appears.

Installing gboard is the answer, but without the virtual keyboard or voice commands this will not be possible, as you HAVE to search in the google playstore. To do this the easiest option is to pair a bluetooth keyboard and search and install gboard. I have no idea why these janky laggy pos lenovo tabs disable gboard but thats the solution. And how i managed to finally reset it before ditching it on marketplace. Good riddance.

Go to Settings > Language and Input methods > disable Google Voice typing and enable Google Keyboard

When I go to Settings I see Language and Input. I then click on Google Voice Typing. On that screen there's no way to disable Google Voice Typing. Under "Current Keyboard" it says Automatic- Google voice typing. When I click on that it says "Change keyboard" and "choose keyboards". When I click on that it shows a screen that says Keyboard and Input methods" but there are no choices to be made there.
Hi, On the language and Input screen is there a Google Keyboard option at all?
If so try selecting it and see if it overrides the voice option.
Also check that the Speech option setting in the same Language and Input menu screen is set to Off.
No Google Keyboard option.
On the Language and Input menu>, speech. the only entry is "text to speech output". I don't see any way to turn Speech off.

Hi,
My only suggestion now is to backup your data and try another factory reset and hopefully it should reset back to having all the features i.e. Google keyboard for one, as shown in the user Guide.
I had already tried factory resets several times with same results. Oh, well. Maybe I'll take it to the store. Shame; I really liked this tablet until this problem. Thanks, again.

had a client with the same issue.
I used a Micro usb adapter and a usb keyboard/mouse and through the Play Store, ENABLED and Installed the GBOARD. After a restart it was fixed

How can i install or enable gboard if I can't get into my tablet???? Any suggestions on how to get into my tablet so I can try. Did find something said the issue is fixed but I can't get into my tablet to even run an update or follow instructions above. Help
Go to play store and use the voice typing to get the Gboard.... Once u download the Gboard the keyboard should be restored... I should know because I had the same problem.
hi michael if you awe there! Like the person above I cannot get access to anything on my lenovo tab3 10 plus so am unable to go to playstore and download. There was no priob gtting into the Tab as it fired itself uo but when the menu comes us and i try to then type in my password again to "unlock" - No keyboard appears. I have tried it all in Safe Mode and there is still no access to keyboard. Have re booted etc. Any ideas welcome !

I had the exact same problem. The keyboard was missing upon login and I could not type in the password. The solution was to purchase an OTG cable (micro USB to standard USB) and connect a regular keyboard (with USB cable) to the Tablet.
After a couple of tries the external keyboard connected to the tablet and it was possible to enter password.
After that I reinstalled/activated and updated Google Keyboard (Gboard) from Google Play.

i didn’t know what to do till i found out this: download an apk keyboard from your pc and move it to your android

just hving this problem for my mipad 1 after factory reset, fortunately i got a huawei bluetooth keyboard, so juz turn bluetooth on, detect the keyboard, go to playstore, sign in blah blah blah, download keyboard , u know the rest
