iPhone won't turn on after apple logo

Hi there,

I've been trying to repair my iPhone and have a feeling the battery is faulty, I was wondering if someone could supply me with the terminal readings for the battery?

what I mean by it not turning on is that you can boot it up ONLY with it plugged into the wall charger, then when I turn it on the apple logo appears as normal then after say 10-15 seconds the phone switches off, when I unplug the USB as it's showing the apple logo it switches off instantly. My dad reckons there's not enough power to go through it (he's good with technical things) therefore I think I need to replace the battery if the terminals aren't reading and I might need to change the dock connector.

My dad tested the battery and it states the right voltage amount but I think he said that one or two terminals aren't reading, could this be the problem?

It sounds like your dad is right. If your battery has good life (3.7 ish?) then I'd take a look at the dock- clean it thoroughly at USB port, clean no4 connector. If that doesn't work then replace it using the guide on top right of his page

Well we managed to find out the problem, the fuse is blown on the board, my dad has jump wired it but we can't find a replacement fuse online. It still only turns on when plugged into the wall but goes to iTunes logo, when plugged into PC to try and get it restored it turns off. so annoying!

lots of people dont use a fuse.. they just make their own with the finest wire they can find, bit of solder and off you go...

Yeah he tried that but the same problem exists D:

If you already did as pollytintop suggested and your dad jumped the broken fuse, and your iphone works on a wall charger but shuts down on your PC, I would change the battery. I believe that this is a part of your problem. The output from the wall charger has a higher amperage than your PC. Of course connect your iPhone to a USB port that comes directly of the motherboard. On a PC it most likely a port in the back. Do not use a hub. Give it a try. I know you mentioned that your dad measured the voltage but the amperage is what is mostly missing to sustain your battery. Good Luck.
