If you bought the phone two years go and have used it frequently I think you might need a new battery since I have switched battery fro most of my phone between year one and two.

But when phone is plugged in it shows the battery charging ok
So I don't think I have a battery problem

Just because the battery shows that it is charging doesn't mean that it will hold its' charge when charging is complete.
All batteries have a life span, including rechargeables. If it works OK with the charger connected but not when on the battery alone the most likely problem is the battery.
An example is that when on the battery only, if it is failing it might not be able to supply the correct voltage level, when under load, that the electronics require to work properly, whereas a charger will always supply the correct voltage, regardless of the load placed on it, (within reason of course).
The easiest way to prove this is to change the battery. If the new one works, problem solved, if it doesn't then you have to delve further into the problem.
