Really Philipps/phillips/philips PH00 screws instead of PH000?

Hej,

when I look at the screw in my iPhone 3G the size of the screws seems to differ a bit. The botton two are smaller than the inner ones, and the two holding the vibrator seem to be somewhere in between. I tried to unscrew them with a PH00 screw driver but it does not fit and I don't want to ruin the screw head. On your tutorial you describe all screws as PH00. Can you confirm that, please?

Cheers,

Uwe

It would be helpful to correct the spelling to Phillips (two "l", one "p").

The name comes from the Phillips Screw Company, which patented the drive shape in the 1930s.

yeah, we all know this, but not all people that search for these sort of questions do, and we don't want to lose a good answer just because someone doesn't know there is a difference. We'll put it in the tags, then everyone is happy!

Thanks John,

after gets my hands on a PH00 and PH000 I can definitely say PH000 is the better choice.

My 3G uses a #000 phillips screw as well not the #00 in the bottom.

I have the PH00 and i can't get out the left screw, it's terrible. Is there a special "trick" how to remove the screws from the 3GS?
