Loud screeching noise coming from my KitchenAid Professional 600?
Every time I turn on my KitchenAid mixer, it emits a loud screeching noise and I have no idea why. Any ideas?

It seems that the gears which turn the beater are either lacking grease or broken. See our guides here KitchenAid Professional 600 Troubleshooting

Wow, this is a really old post, but I found the problem. It is the brushes. I bought a used one (KT2651) that was slow to move and squealed. Cleaned the commutator and swapped the brushes, no more squeal.
