My acer aspire was working ok, then i gothomeand attemtped to turn it on.
The battery and hhd led work, screen comes on, but all i see is a smallwhite line similar to what you see on dos. The hdd makes soundthen both noise stops and screens goes blank then comes back on doing same.
It just repeats thisprocess, will not allow me to do anything.

Sorry to say but your HDD is most likely faulty if it gets stuck at the blinking "_" and/or keeps rebooting. Does your hard drive make a ticking noise?

Hi, Have you got a recovery USB drive or installation media so that you can boot to the advanced recovery options to troubleshoot your problem?
