My phone will turn on but the screen is black

So the other day the screen on my phone quit working. I tried restarting it, but that didn't work. What happens is that it will turn on since I can hear it start up, but nothing will show on the screen.

There might be multiple causes to this problem. Is there any sign of damage to the screen? Cracks or water damage? Any damage to the display screen may cause it not to turn on. The only solution to this problem is to replace the screen. Take a look at this troubleshooting page; it contains a detailed explanation to the problem as well as links to some repair guides.

You might just need to reboot your phone. It's possible your screen is bad though. You can read more about it on the troubleshooting page for this device.
