I have the 3.4 i7 27" imac with the Dual HD setup (at purchase).....256GB Blade SSD with the 2TB HDD. Anyone ever seen the SSD inside before? i know it's the blade, but what interface? was it PCI-E, Sata, MSata,?
Im looking to upgrade to a larger SSD, but really only want to have to take this thing apart once.

AFAIK there is no 3rd party provider of Blade SSDs to fit these and other Blade models because they use a proprietary interface.
OWC usually is the first to identify and offer such upgrades. I see none at their site.
FWIW should a Blade SSD become available it looks to be a daunting and time consuming process to replace it.

If it's the 2011 model that you are referring to, then it doesn't have a blade SSD. The SSD installed is a 2.5" SATA III that is mounted behind the Optical drive. They didn't start using the bladed SSD's on iMac's until the 2012 model.
